Is Painless delivery Possible? The minute someone says baby delivery or labor, the first thing that always comes into our mind is the suffering that every mom endures. The worry that each mom-to-be undergoes thinking about how to undergo a painless delivery is inexplicable. We have science in itself stating that during a baby delivery, the human body can bear only up to 45 “DEL” (unit) of pain, but a mother feels up to 57 DEL of pain while giving birth which is equal to 20 bones getting fractured at once.
So to help our mothers to minimize or eradicate labor pain in order to have a painless baby delivery various techniques were devised. Breathing, massaging and other relaxation techniques could only help to a certain extent whereas those techniques that provided complete removal of pain involved the usage of drugs like pain meds and epidural analgesia hence resulting in multiple side effects to the mother during baby delivery.
HEALTHY MOTHER AND A HEALTHY BABY
TENS has been used in labor pain management for over 30 years in providing painless baby delivery experiences. It is super easy to use, and multiple studies have shown that there are no harmful effects during baby delivery to the mother or neonate. TENS – Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation provides pain relief by using mild electrical pulses. Before the pain signal can reach the region of pain origin, electrical pulses from ELLE TENS masks the pain signals at the dorsal horn of the spinal cord and allows only the pain reliving hormones, helping in effective labor pain management.
ELLE TENS ENSURING PAINLESS DELIVERY!
ELLE TENS is the best pain relief remedy when it comes to painless delivery of baby. This maternity TENS is different from others with two innovative technologies.
- ELLE TENS becomes the only labor TENS to provide a relief specifically for contraction pain.
- A patented Opti-Max technology is being used under extreme pain conditions during labor
The highlighted pros of using this technique is that it is.
- Drug-free
- Non-invasive
- Non-restrictive
- Easy to operate
- Fully regulated by the user
- No loss of control
ELLE TENS has a wide range of series products.
- ELLE TENS
ELLE TENS has 2 channels and comes with four disposable pad electrodes, two for each channel. This one also has two main control modes a ‘burst’ mode for in between contractions and a ‘boost’ mode during contractions. When labor commences, one is recommended to start with the burst 1 and boost 1 option, tailored to those first stage contractions, encouraging your body during baby delivery to produce its’ own natural pain-killing hormones called Endorphins and Enkephalins. When things get more intense one can shift to the burst 2 and boost 2 options. The ELLE TENS has a unique feature called Opti-Max, which provides greater power for those more tough times at the end of labor enhancing a painless baby delivery.
- ELLE TENS 2
The burst and the boost modes are the same in the ELLE TENS 2 as the ELLE TENS , the contraction timing is an additional function on the ELLE TENS 2 over the original ELLE TENS. The ‘Contraction Timer’ is automatically triggered when the boost button is pressed for a contraction on the ELLE TENS 2. The length of your contractions is measured in seconds with this device. The ‘Between Contraction Timer’ is triggered once the contraction has ended and Boost Button has been released.
ELLE TENS +
It has 3 MODES birth mode, pain mode, and pelvic mode as follows.
- Birth mode – TENS for labor pain
Birth mode is similar to the features of ELLE TENS and ELLE TENS 2 devices. Where the burst mode is used in between contractions and boost mode is used during contractions when the mother is ready for baby delivery. Additionally, the Opti-Max Key can increase or decrease the level of pulse power transmitted to the skin through electrode pads. - Pain mode – TENS for general pain
Pain mode in ELLE TENS + has four sub-modes distinctively characterized by different sensations.
1. The Constant mode provides continuous pulses and is effectively used for acute pain.
2. The Burst mode pulses are on and off in a regular cycle and feel like a heartbeat. This mode has a tingling sensation and can be used in case of chronic pain.
3. The Massage mode involves pulsation and decrease in regular cycles and is synonymous with a massaging sensation.
4. The Mixed mode is a combination of the above two modes, comprising 3 seconds of Constant mode and 3 seconds of Burst mode. - Pelvic mode – pelvic floor rehabilitation after birth
The Pelvic mode consists of a simple yet powerful device, the pelvic floor toner is designed to tone and strengthen pelvic floor muscles and treat or prevent incontinence.
There are 4 programs in the Pelvic mode:
P.1: Urge Incontinence – 30 minutes – a strong, sudden, and uncontrollable urge to pass urine.
P.2: Stress Incontinence – 30 minutes – results due to pressure in abdominal muscles, small urine leakage occurs while sneezing, laughing, coughing, lifting, jogging, running, or exercising.
P.3: Mixed Incontinence – 45 minutes – involves a combination of both urge incontinence and stress incontinence
P.4: After Care – 45 minutes- This is more of an after-care rehabilitation that can be used directly after treatment with the other modes or can be used as a mode to maintain and improve the present conditions.
Also, a survey was conducted in 2019, at a multi-specialty hospital where 3000 labor pain patients got significant pain relief and mostly ended up in painless delivery. This proves that the mechanism of TENS also induces normal baby delivery in labor-undergoing mothers.
